Surf Fishing for Giant Redfish

How do you catch Giant Redfish Surf Fishing in the Florida Panhandle. Bamabeachbum and beardedbumadventures shows you how in this instagram video.

Redfish like areas with structure, like sandbars, troughs, or cuts in the surf These spots create currents that bring in baitfish, which redfish love to eat. Look for areas where waves break differently or where the water changes color. Early morning and late afternoon are great times to fish, but redfish can bite all day, especially when the tide is moving.

Redfish aren’t picky, but fresh bait works best. Try:

  • Cut mullet

  • Live or cut menhaden

  • Shrimp

  • Crab

Put the bait on a circle hook (size 5/0–8/0) to help hook the fish in the corner of the mouth. This makes catch-and-release easier if needed.
